Italian trumpeter Enrico Rava and American pianist Fred Hersch share a deep affection for melodic invention. Their collaboration has been hailed as a summit meeting of two jazz masters. Produced by Manfred Eicher, The Song Is You explores beloved standards by Jerome Kern, Thelonious Monk, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and George Bassman, as well as their own originals. Rava has been an ECM artist for almost 50 years, while Hersch makes his debut with the label.
