Charles Mingus: Pre-Bird Test Pressing

The conceit of Charles Mingus’ 1961’s Pre-Bird is that all the music was composed before Mingus first heard the music of Charlie Parker. The music is scored for various-sized ensembles and features many prominent soloists, including Eric Dolphy, Clark Terry, Booker Ervin and many others.
